Stressed-Out

Final examinations are near and I am working my ass off to get passing, if not high, grades just so I can remain in the accountancy program. We, accounting students, have higher grade cut-off compared to students of other business courses. So it is only natural that we exert more effort than them. Finding a place conducive for studying has always been a hard task for me, and that's one of the reason I haven't been home for a long while since I find it really hard to resist sleeping when I'm home. I stay at the dormitory because there's always this "i-should-study" feeling lying around and I always end up being more productive than usual.

I remembered a place here in Iloilo city that my friends and I once visited. It's actually a college of some sort, but it sure doesn't look like it. And it is really a good place to study because it's so quiet and comfy but not the kind that will make you want to sleep. It actually looks like a home or a retreat house inside since the rooms are designed like parts of a house. A teacher there gave us a tour inside and I instantly fell in love with the place. How I wish I could just go there anytime I would want to, but I guess that's not really possible.
Here, let me give you a tour through the pictures I had taken. =)

Did you love it too? Coz I certainly did!=D

Speak Now

Not much interesting has been happening to my life lately except spending too much time making database system (which I didn't give much help), watching Harry Potter series, and oh, meeting one of the people I look up to, Sen. Miriam Santiago. Yeah, her. I even got to shake hands with her, lols. I realized she looks skinnier in tv than in person, coz yeah, she looks a lot chubbier up front. I even got to witness her funny side when she delivered the "top 20 pick-up lines of the youth" which she got from directly from the www, and she even claimed she had been studying these in the senate meetings instead of listening to "crazy" people. It was really generous of her to offer to donate any building we needed, since she was also an alumna of our University (and Franklin Drilon!). I hope it will be finished before I graduate, unlike our Cinematheque which is still unmade until now.=(

That's all for now. I'm off to finish my reaction paper for economics, study un-understandable Statistics, and dig in accounting terms which I'm having a hard time understanding. Oh,the life of a businessman!(AS IF!lols)

Ms Iskonomiks

As I've said in my previous post, my friend Sharmane joined the pageant during the ISKONOMIKS convention we attended last Friday. It was totally random since they only announced it like 3 hours before and we weren't totally prepared. The organizers were supposed to be the ones to provide the garments, but since there were many contestants who wanted to join, the gowns weren't enough for everyone, and unluckily, Sharm was one of those who didn't get the gown. We were really excited before we knew it, and when we learned about it, we were totally disappointed. We hate to kill our excitement,so we decided to rent a gown for her instead. What we forgot was that, that option will cost us much. Good thing, one of us knew someone where we could borrow a dress. Since the one they chose was kinda plain and boring, our designer friend Rene altered it to make it look nice and not out-of-place. Then we divided other tasks like buying the fabric, finding shoes, accessories, make-up and other necessities. Even if she didn't won, we still had a lot of fun, and we realized how much we all love each other. We also saw how supportive we are of each other in our block. Gotta love the RetroSci (our block name).

Convention,Day 1

I'm really really sorry for being MIA for a long while. If blogging is a real job, I would have been fired by now. As I've said in my previous posts, I have been really busy with my school works that I don't get to touch my laptop unless it's a school assignment. Besides, the WiFi here at our dorm had also been "MIA" cause everytime I try to connect with  the 'net, it's always limited connectivity. Nevertheless, I am here now updating my blog with something I think is not really worth blogging. There is really not much interesting about my life right now, unless you see school really interesting, which I don't.

Yeah,so last Friday, we attended a convention which was all about economics *yawns*. If only it were up to me, I wouldn't have attended, but because it will correspond to one long exam, I had to drag myself out there and force my ears to listen to the things that they talk about.

It was really a boring one, but good thing I was surrounded by super fun people, who made me laugh all throughout the event. Another interesting that made the event fun was when my friend Sharmane joined the pageant part of the convention. It was fun following her around and making sure everything was in order. Really, it really made my adrenaline rush. haha. Here are some of the pics I took during the 2-day event.

Having lunch before going to the convention.

Having fun while kiling time. and Yes, I haven't taken a bath yet. *embarassing*

*F-U-N*

We're pretty much prepared already.

On the way.

*this is only for day 1. The contest and Day 2 will be on a separate post. =))
